Meet the Team of Monarchs

Dr. Jennifer Ikner Lowry, President

Dr. Jennifer Lowry holds a doctorate in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in Christian Ministry. She's an author of over thirty books, a speaker, author coach, and a teacher. Jen loves to read, write in pajamas, and watch UFC. Turn on a horror movie - she's in. Share your favorite book recommendation - she's marking it to read.

Solomon Lowry, Editorial Assistant

Solomon is the editorial assistant to the publisher. He helps manage the behind-the-scenes operations from the very first query to author acquisitions. Solomon is the one to go to for music recommendations and loves to play the guitar. He has a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, loves dystopian novels and has watched The Office too many times to count. We are blessed to have Solomon as an intern! Go Heels!

Haley Hwang, Lead Editor

Haley Hwang is a screenwriter, author, and editor living in the Chicago area.  With a bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Medill School of  Journalism at Northwestern University, her career has spanned working as a newspaper reporter, medical writer and editor, online real estate editor, and online entertainment editor. For the past four years, she has served as a beta reader, critique partner, proofreader, and line editor for writers of flash fiction, short stories, full-length novels, and screenplays.

Haley also writes short stories, novels, and short screenplays and feature screenplays of her own. She has a passion for writing diverse characters, preferably in historical settings with some martial arts and concubines thrown in if at all possible. For her novels, she is represented by Amy Giuffrida of The Jennifer De Chiara Literary Agency,  and her first two novels are out on submission to major publishers.  Haley won first place overall in 2020 in The Writer’s Workout’s  “Writer’s Games,” a five-week international short story writing competition, and her winning stories are featured in the anthologies 72  Hours of Insanity: Anthology of the Games: Volume 8 (August 2020) and 72  Hours of Insanity: Anthology of the Games: Volume 7 (January 2020). Her creative nonfiction has been published in The New York Times and in the anthology Tiny Love Stories (Artisan Press, December 2020). She also served on the writing team for Season 1 of the radio drama series  “Secrets of Harridge House” (KNVC 95.1 FM, Carson City, NV).  When Haley isn’t writing or editing, she likes to drink coffee, eat pastries, and think about her next meal.

Kara Linaburg, Editor Intern

Kara Linaburg has had a passion for stories for as long as she can remember -- especially ones that show us light in the darkness.  Currently enrolled as a student in UCLA-Extension's program for editing  and publishing, she is a freelance editor and author in her spare  time. She lives in West Virginia where she watches every sunset  possible, reads books with the enemies-to-lovers trope, and spends time  with her family.

Oh, and just in case you didn't know, Kara is a Monarch through and through! Check out A Study in Terminal releasing in June!

Sally Shupe, Freelance Editor

Sally Shupe has a BA in English, is a member of ACFW, and has been a freelance editor for over 10 years. She lives in southwest Virginia with her family and a whole bunch of pets. Sally loves genealogy, running, and crocheting.

Kelly Martin, Freelance Editor

Kelly Martin is an author, developmental editor, ghostwriter, and teacher. She also is the wife of one handsome dude, mother of two cats, mother of three kids, and grandmother of the cutest little kitten in the world. With over forty books as an author under her belt, Kelly has worked with several editors and publishers through the years. She uses that knowledge to give her developmental edits the personal touch that the best editors gave her. Her favorite things about developmental editing are the brainstorming process to fix plot holes and the excitement of working with other authors. Kelly loves all things paranormal, keeps ghost hunting shows on repeat, and spends most of her time trying to keep her cat off the keyboard. Check out Kelly's website and meet your next favorite MG Horror author (She's ours!): http://www.kellymartinbooks.com/

Pauline Harris, Freelance Editor

Pauline  is a freelance editor who runs her own editorial business at Pauline  Harris Editorial. She’s been  an avid writer since childhood and has six published YA novels and one  NA novel. She spends most of her time writing, editing, and staying up  way past her bedtime to binge watch TV shows with her chubby cat,  Leonard.
She's also an amazing author! We love her books. Check out her website here: https://www.paulineharriseditorial.com/

Jessica Abbiati, Freelance Editor

Jessica Abbiati is a lover of stories and vintage typewriters who is passionate about finding the best way to tell your

story. When she’s not editing, you can find her painting with watercolors or spending time with her husband, Zacchaeus, and their pets — a kitty named Downton and a bunny named Pippin. She lives with her “boys” by the

sea in Rhode Island. Once in a blue moon, she’ll post some photos or random musings on her blog.  https://consideritpurejoy426.wordpress.com

Korin Linaburg photo

Korin Linaburg, Illustrator

A recent graduate of culinary arts school, Korin Linaburg spends her free time experimenting on unique recipes and trying to create the perfect cupcake flavor combinations. When she's not in the kitchen, you can find her taking long walks, working on her latest art project, or listening to her author sister rant about fictional people. She lives in wild and wonderful West Virginia (since Narnia isn't an option).
You can follow Korin @jesusandcupcakes on Instagram to see her amazing talent!
